Where and how high should it be mounted?

Living areas and hallways: mount around 60 to 66 in (152 to 168 cm) from the floor, roughly eye level when standing. Along a hallway, space lights about 8 to 10 ft (2.4 to 3 m) apart. In narrow halls, choose a slim light that sits about 4 in (10 cm) or less from the wall.

Beside a bed: mount it so the light sits just above shoulder height when you're sitting up, for reading without glare.

I spent a while deciding between the brass and black versions. In the end we chose black because there are already a few darker details in our sitting room. The pale alabaster gives it a nice contrast, and the shade is the part I enjoy most. We had an electrician fit it and chose a compatible warm bulb separately. It's an additional light for that corner rather than something I expected to illuminate the whole room. The evening appearance is lovely, and it still looks decorative when switched off.

Wanted a natural material for the entryway. This adds texture without lots of decoration.

Beside our bed, the alabaster gives the light a softer appearance than the fitting we had before. We selected a warm bulb for evenings. The brass detail also works well with the small metal accents already in the room.

Love the stone shade

Against our darker paint, the pale alabaster has a lovely presence. We checked the projection before choosing the mounting spot. That helped us place it somewhere it wouldn't feel cramped beside the furniture.

Glad I checked the depth before ordering. It fits the spot beside our console nicely.
