Where and how high should it be mounted?

Living areas and hallways: mount around 60 to 66 in (152 to 168 cm) from the floor, roughly eye level when standing. Along a hallway, space lights about 8 to 10 ft (2.4 to 3 m) apart. In narrow halls, choose a slim light that sits about 4 in (10 cm) or less from the wall.

Beside a bed: mount it so the light sits just above shoulder height when you're sitting up, for reading without glare.

Is it hardwired or plug-in?

Wanted an evening accent rather than another overhead light. This suits that purpose.

For the bedroom I wanted a little colour without adding more cushions or artwork. The green option does that nicely. Its simple metal shape keeps it looking fairly restrained, which works with the rest of the room.
