What size fan do I need?

As a guide, rooms up to 75 sq ft (7 m²) suit a blade span up to 36 in (91 cm). Rooms up to 144 sq ft (13 m²) suit 36 to 44 in (91 to 112 cm), and rooms up to 225 sq ft (21 m²) suit 44 to 52 in (112 to 132 cm). Larger rooms suit 52 in (132 cm) or more.

How high should it be mounted?

The blades should sit at least 7 ft (2.1 m) above the floor, and ideally 8 to 9 ft (2.4 to 2.7 m) for the best airflow. Low ceilings suit a flush or close-mount fan, while high or sloped ceilings may need a longer downrod.

Does it have a light and remote?

It depends on the model. The specifications list whether it has a built-in LED light, whether that light dims or switches between warm and cool white, which controls are included, and whether it has a reverse function for year-round use.

Is it quiet enough for a bedroom?

DC motors generally run quieter than AC motors, which makes them a popular choice for bedrooms.

Do I need an electrician, and can it go outdoors?
