In most living spaces, wall lights look best mounted between 60 and 66 inches from the floor — roughly at eye level when standing. In hallways, slightly lower at 56 to 60 inches can feel more intimate. For bedside wall lights, mount so the bottom of the shade sits around 24 to 28 inches above the mattress surface. Always consider the proportions of the wall and surrounding furniture when deciding on final height.
This varies by fixture — the wiring type for each light is listed in the product specifications above. Hardwired wall lights require connection to your existing wiring and installation by a licensed electrician. Plug-in wall lights connect to a standard US wall outlet and can be installed without an electrician, making them a flexible option if you do not have existing wall wiring in the desired position.
For hardwired fixtures, yes — we strongly recommend installation by a licensed electrician to ensure safety and compliance with local electrical codes. For plug-in fixtures, no electrician is required. Installation hardware and instructions are included with every order regardless of wiring type.
Dimmability depends on the specific fixture — please refer to the product specifications above. Where dimming is supported, hardwired fixtures will need a compatible LED dimmer switch, while plug-in fixtures may use an in-line dimmer cord. In both cases, dimmable LED bulbs are required. Using a non-compatible dimmer can cause flickering or buzzing.
Bulb type, base size, and maximum wattage are listed in the product specifications. Unless noted otherwise, bulbs are not included. We recommend warm white LED bulbs in the 2700K to 3000K range for the most flattering and energy-efficient result.
