What size do I need, and how high should it go?

As a guide, choose a light about one quarter to one third the height of the door it sits beside. Mount it around 66 in (168 cm) from the ground, or just above eye level.

Do I need an electrician?

Lovely accent for our patio wall.

Choosing something for the courtyard took longer than expected. I wanted a light that would add interest without taking over the wall. This was a good match. It works with the other lighting around the seating area and helps that corner feel more complete.

Against our plain wall it adds a nice bit of detail. The fitting itself stays fairly understated.

Adding this was one of the last details in tidying up our patio. We chose warm white to suit the more relaxed evening atmosphere. The design stays fairly restrained, which works well with the surrounding materials. Happy with the overall result.

Beside the patio door this looks good. I wanted a modern fitting without lots of decorative details.

Exactly what that corner needed

Before adding this, our patio lighting was fairly practical but didn't give the wall much interest. We chose this as an extra accent rather than replacing everything outside. The simple design fits nicely with the rest of the space. Warm white made sense for the seating area, so that was the option we ordered. It hasn't transformed the entire garden, but it has improved a corner that previously felt a little overlooked. Overall, pleased with the choice.

My main priority was finding a fitting that looked appealing with the LED switched off as well as on. The wall beside our entrance gets plenty of daylight, so the body itself mattered. This keeps things visually simple while still looking intentional. We selected warm white because we wanted the doorway to feel inviting after dark. The light works nicely with the other small changes we've made outside, we're pleased with how that area has come together.
