Yes. All of our pillar lights carry an IP rating suitable for permanent outdoor exposure. The IP rating for each fixture is listed in the product specifications above. As a general guide, IP44 suits covered or sheltered positions, while IP65 is rated for fully exposed conditions including direct rain.
The base of the pillar light should sit comfortably within the footprint of the post or column it mounts on — ideally no wider than the top surface. For standard brick or stone pillars, a base between 6 and 10 inches suits most residential applications. For larger statement columns, a wider base or lantern-style cap works best. Yes. Pillar lights are hardwired fixtures that require connection to your existing outdoor wiring, which is typically routed up through the post or column. We strongly recommend installation by a licensed electrician to ensure safe wiring, correct weatherproofing of all connections, and compliance with local electrical codes. Installation hardware and instructions are included with every order.
Bulb type, base size, and maximum wattage are listed in the product specifications. Unless noted otherwise, bulbs are not included. We recommend warm white LED bulbs in the 2700K to 3000K range for the most welcoming entrance ambiance and best energy efficiency.
