Traditional Outdoor Pillar Light with Frosted Glass & Die-Cast Aluminum Frame

Designed to give entrances, gate posts and boundary walls a more substantial architectural finish, this outdoor pillar light combines a decorative lantern silhouette with the durability required for exterior installation. Its tall hexagonal form is framed in die-cast aluminum, with layered roof detailing, a sculpted finial and geometric latticework that gives the fixture character from every viewing angle.

Frosted glass panels soften the exposed bulb and spread the light more evenly, creating a warm, composed glow rather than a harsh point of illumination. The result works particularly well along driveways, entrance pillars, courtyard walls and formal garden boundaries where the fixture remains visually distinctive during both the day and evening.

Three sizes allow the proportions to be matched more closely to the surrounding architecture. The Medium and Large versions share the same width, with the Large increasing in height for greater vertical presence on substantial gate posts and stone columns. An E27 bulb socket also gives you flexibility to select the brightness and colour temperature that best suits the exterior setting.

Size & Placement Guide

For the most balanced result, measure the usable top surface of your pillar before selecting a size.

Small: Well suited to narrower fence posts and compact entrance pillars.
Medium: A versatile option for standard gate posts and masonry columns.
Large: Best where additional height and visual presence are desired on substantial entrance pillars, driveway columns or larger architectural features.

For paired entrances, matching fixtures on either side of the gate create the most symmetrical installation.

Pillar lights are fixtures designed to mount directly onto the top or face of a gate post, fence pillar, or masonry column. They are most commonly used at driveway entrances, front gates, and garden borders to provide both security lighting and a strong architectural statement. They differ from post lights in that they sit on an existing structure rather than a freestanding pole.
Yes. All of our pillar lights carry an IP rating suitable for permanent outdoor exposure. The IP rating for each fixture is listed in the product specifications above. As a general guide, IP44 suits covered or sheltered positions, while IP65 is rated for fully exposed conditions including direct rain.
The base of the pillar light should sit comfortably within the footprint of the post or column it mounts on — ideally no wider than the top surface. For standard brick or stone pillars, a base between 6 and 10 inches suits most residential applications. For larger statement columns, a wider base or lantern-style cap works best. Yes. Pillar lights are hardwired fixtures that require connection to your existing outdoor wiring, which is typically routed up through the post or column. We strongly recommend installation by a licensed electrician to ensure safe wiring, correct weatherproofing of all connections, and compliance with local electrical codes. Installation hardware and instructions are included with every order.
Bulb type, base size, and maximum wattage are listed in the product specifications. Unless noted otherwise, bulbs are not included. We recommend warm white LED bulbs in the 2700K to 3000K range for the most welcoming entrance ambiance and best energy efficiency.

Our pillar lights are built for permanent outdoor installation — using materials such as powder-coated aluminum, stainless steel, solid brass, and tempered glass. All finishes are designed to resist rust, corrosion, and UV fading under normal outdoor conditions.
