As a general guide, IP44 is suitable for covered outdoor areas such as porches and canopies, while IP65 is rated for direct rain exposure and fully exposed walls.
Yes. Outdoor wall lights are hardwired fixtures that must be connected to your existing exterior wiring. We strongly recommend installation by a licensed electrician to ensure safety, weatherproofing, and compliance with local electrical codes. Installation hardware and instructions are included with every order.
For most exterior walls, the fixture height should be roughly one third of the door or wall height it sits beside. As a rule of thumb, mount the light at around 66 inches from the ground — or just above eye level. For larger facades or garage walls, scaling up with a taller fixture or using a pair helps balance the proportions. Dimensions are listed in the product specifications above.
Dimmability depends on the specific fixture — please refer to the product specifications above. Where dimming is supported, you will need a compatible outdoor-rated LED dimmer switch and dimmable LED bulbs. Using a non-compatible dimmer can cause flickering or buzzing.
Bulb type, base size, and maximum wattage are listed in the product specifications. Unless noted otherwise, bulbs are not included. We recommend warm white LED bulbs in the 2700K to 3000K range for the most inviting exterior ambiance and best energy efficiency.
